Hot Off The Press….

Well we have been lucky enough to be featured in the Caterer magazine this month courtesy of Stephanie Sparrow. A few of our staff attended a  2 and a half day BEST WESTERN Personality Experience course and all gained a few ‘magic moments’ of their own! A great time was had by all!

Ambleside Sports

A fabulous turn out at Ambleside Sports with locals  and many visitors, a great time was had by all. Geoff was on hand to open the Sports as his role as President of the association and of course Paul was there helping out with the track and field events Our very own wild man of Windermere Mike (Head Chef) exchanged his swim socks for trainers and completed the fell race – and wasn’t last!. A great day too weather wise and for Ambleside Junior Fell Running Club who went home with most of the prizes – well done guys!

Fancy a Dip in the Lakes….

We had a bit of a mention in the Daily Mail over the weekend, promoting the Lakes as one of the best spots for a thrilling out freshwater swim. We are offering a weekend bed and breakfast package which includes wild swimming - wet suites are provided but optional if your feeling brave you can take the plunge with out one.If you want to play it safe you can always use our fabulous pool for a swim- don’t forget your bathers! We are quite proud to be mentioned in one of the national papers who knows were we will turn up next!

Sports Round Up

It’s  been a bit busy on the sports front here at the Salutation we had Paul giving the 10k Grasmere Gallops a go at the start of June. Then of course we had the Great North Swim which was over a weekend Paul donned his wetsuit to swim the mile on the Saturday. Mike & Hannah Durkin did the half mile on the Sunday which would have been a nice Fathers Day treat, Hannah is hoping she can go solo next year and let dad do the 2 mile ! Gerry our joiner and all round good egg got on his bike to do the Sam Houghton mountain bike challenge for Cancer Research UK. So they have all been enjoying the fantastic senery around  the Lakes on foot, on bikes or from the Lake!
